Man with gunshot wounds dies after arriving at hospital in Minneapolis
A man died Thursday after arriving at a Minneapolis hospital suffering from gunshot wounds.
According to a release from the Minneapolis Police Department, at 3:51 a.m. Thursday morning, Minneapolis police responded to a ShotSpotter activation on the 3500 block of Chicago Avenue South.
Officers were unable to locate any victim of a shooting in the area. As they searched, officers were told that an adult male believed to be in his late 20s had arrived at Hennepin Healthcare suffering from gunshot wounds.
Investigation indicates that the victim’s injuries occurred in the area of the ShotSpotter activation and officers located a possible scene.
Police later learned that the victim died at the hospital.
The identity of the victim, as well as the cause and nature of death, will be released in the coming days.
