The man who was arrested after authorities say he drove a tanker truck toward a crowd of protesters has been released from jail, according to the Hennepin County Attorney's Office.
The attorney's office says the case against Bogdan Vechirko has been deferred pending further investigation.
At this time, investigators are gathering additional information to help decide whether to charge the driver.
Gov. Tim Walz and Minnesota Department of Public Safety Commissioner John Harrington said Monday that it doesn't appear that Vechirko intentionally drove on the highway or tried to cause harm.
Earlier Tuesday, KSTP received a video from MnDOT showing moments before the semi-truck began braking.
