Man killed in Minneapolis shooting on Thursday identified

The man killed in a Thursday night shooting in Minneapolis has been identified as Devan Dampier, 28, of Minneapolis by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner.

The report rules his death a homicide and says he died from a gunshot wound to the torso.

Police said when they responded to a shot spotter activation on the 1100 block of 21st Avenue North Thursday night they found a man with a life-threatening gunshot wound. Dampier was taken to the hospital where he died.

The homicide is under investigation. No arrests have been made yet.
