The Cannon Falls Police Department said officers arrested a suspect who led them on a chase after a woman said she was abducted in the Twin Cities.
A Facebook post from the Cannon Falls Police Department said that officers were dispatched to a Casey’s General Store at about 10:48 a.m. Saturday for a woman who reported she had been abducted in the Twin Cities and escaped.
Police say they then found the suspect vehicle and pursued it.
The suspect attempted to flee, and the chase went through the west side of Cannon Falls before the suspect reportedly crashed into a pursuing officer’s squad vehicle.
That officer was not injured.
According to police the suspect then continued to flee officers by driving north on Highway 52. Officers used traffic cameras to track the suspect until the vehicle exited the highway.
An alert to locate the vehicle was then sent out.
The suspect was found in Northfield and then later heading south on I-35. Police then pursued the vehicle again, and the suspect was arrested in Faribault.
Cannon Falls police said the 25-year-old suspect will be booked in the Goodhue County Jail, and formal charges are expected in the coming days.
