Judge denies temporary injunction seeking to allow guns at Minnesota State Fair
A judge has denied a motion for a temporary injunction that sought to allow people with permits to carry firearms to bring their guns to the 2021 Minnesota State Fair.
One day ahead of the start of the fair, Ramsey County District Court Judge Laura E. Nelson denied the motion, which was filed by the Minnesota Gun Owners Caucus.
The gun owners argued that the ban violates state law and the Second Amendment, while the fair argued it has the authority to protect the safety of visitors.
While Nelson found granting temporary injunctive relief wasn’t appropriate, the gun owners can still seek to overturn the fair’s policy for future years.
