Time is running out on a Faribault home that dates back to before the Civil war.
Rice County has set Friday as the deadline to have the home built in 1855 moved or it could be torn down.
The county owns the home and tried to auction off the house last fall with no luck.
County officials hope to find someone who will move and renovate the home which would cost around $600,000.
“Unfortunately it hasn’t been cared for,” Suzy Rook with Rice County said. “It’s gutted inside. I think it would be tremendously sad. This is a piece of Minnesota’s history.”
If no one decides to move home, it could be torn down as early as next week.
