The 2021 Great Minnesota Get-Back-Together is now over and cleanup is underway.
After more than 1.3 million people attended the 12-day event, the fair is now hiring people to help pick up trash and assist with teardown.
John Jameson has worked at the fair for 44 years, which means 44 years of cleaning up after the fair.
"The more people you have, the easier it gets," he said.
While some staff has stuck around to clean up after the fair, finding help hasn’t been easy.
The fair is looking to hire people to help clean up, with jobs possibly lasting through October.
While Jameson said, business-wise, 2021 wasn’t a fair to remember, he’s glad it was held.
"I was happy to be here. We were happy to be back and be able to come back to some sense of normalcy," he said.
The 2022 Minnesota State Fair is scheduled to start on Aug. 25.
