Fridley police say they are investigating an overnight shooting at a business.
The Anoka County Sheriff’s Office says police from Fridley, Blaine, Columbia Heights, Coon Rapids and Spring Lake Park were called to Two Stooges Sports Bar and Grill at 1:14 a.m. on a report of gunfire and a shooting victim.
After arriving at the scene, authorities found a man and a woman suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. They were both taken to a hospital for treatment.
According to the sheriff’s office, two men were apparently engaged in an altercation with security staff as the bar was closing. One of the men left and went to a vehicle in the parking lot before returning a short time later and firing a gun at the security staff and bystanders.
A bystander who had a gun on him then returned fire, the sheriff’s office said.
The man who returned fire was taken into custody and the original shooter fled before authorities arrived, according to the sheriff’s office.
Authorities say they don’t believe there is any immediate threat to the public.
The shooting remains under investigation.
