Day 9: Minnesota State Fair features crafters, bakers

Friday is Day 9 of the Minnesota State Fair.

State fair organizers said there are early bird specials until 1 p.m. at Mighty Midway and Kidway and Adventure Park.

Meanwhile, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., there will be many Minnesota crafters and bakers at the Creative Activities Building. This year’s featured exhibits include a display from Minnesota Mosaic Guild, a hand-blown glass chandelier, and an arrangement by Fluid Photography.

Cooking and baking demonstrations will also take place in the Cambria Kitchen.

There will be a 4-H Fashion Show on the first floor of the 4-H Building, starting at 4 p.m.

At 4:30 p.m., there will be a "Butter Carve-O-Rama" contest on the Moo Stage outside the Cattle Barn.

Then, the "Safe Tractor Operator’s Contest," as part of the "FFA Livestock Show," is set for 3:30 p.m. in the livestock area.

There will be a "Music, Movie and Conversation" event with Kevin Costner and special guest Modern West at 6:30 p.m. at the Grandstand.

The fair lasts until Labor Day, Sept. 6. and tickets can be brought online or at the fair.
