Coalition of Black women, mothers demand accountability following death of Amir Locke

We’re hearing from the community Monday as they continue to search for answers following the death of Amir Locke last week.

A coalition of Black women and mothers spoke Monday afternoon.

The coalition says it demands Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey “take the necessary steps” to fire Minneapolis police officer Mark Hanneman and Interim Chief Amelia Huffman.

“Over the short and long term, we demand an overhaul of the Minneapolis Police Department, its policies and its culture,” the coalition said in a statement.
