Three young adults are safe and were not hurt after authorities were called to rescue them from a St. Paul cave.
St. Paul firefighters responded to the area of Shepard Road and Davern Street at about midnight Wednesday.
Authorities said it was a risk not worth taking.
"My message would be to stay out of the caves," one official said. "We have a history, obviously, in St. Paul with caves and cliffs. (They are) unstable environments in general … they're just not safe to go into."
The three who were rescued had lost cellphone service before crews reached them.
