"I want to express my condolences to Mr. Johnson's loved ones. His death was absolutely senseless," said SPPD Chief Todd Axtell. "While we can't change what happened to him, we can do everything possible to find the people responsible. And that's exactly what we did."

"A lot of work went into this case, and everyone—patrol officers, investigators, our SWAT team and others—poured their hearts into the long days and sleepless nights to get justice for Mr. Johnson's family. I hope it provides some comfort to everyone affected by this tragedy," Axtell added.
