St. Paul police identified the victim of the shooting as 19-year-old Marcus Rashon Johnson of St. Paul. This incident is still under investigation.

A St. Paul shooting left one man dead Saturday night. 

According to the St. Paul Police Department, at 11:15 p.m. on Saturday, officers were responding to assist paramedics at the intersection of Kennard Street North and Ross Avenue on a report of a man who had been assaulted. 

Once officers checked on the man, they noticed that he was suffering from a gunshot injury. 

The man was also unconscious and not breathing, said St. Paul Police. He was pronounced dead on the scene. 

Officers had secured the crime scene and have begun looking for witnesses and any evidence of the crime. 

The identity of the man will not be released until the next of kin is notified. 

The incident remains under investigation — more information is set to come out at a later time.
