2nd victim of St. Paul trench collapse identified
The second man who died as a result of a trench collapse in St. Paul has been identified.
Robert Brandtjen, who died following the collapse Friday, was the father of a recent St. Thomas Academy graduate, the school confirmed Monday.
A school spokesperson reported a notice was issued to school members, asking for prayers and support and including a link to an official GoFundMe page.
Headmaster Kelby Woodard issued the following statement:
“Our community loves Billy and is heartbroken for him. We are rallying around him by providing grief and spiritual counseling, living arrangements, help with funeral planning and, of course, contributing to the GoFundMe campaign. The support has been tremendous.”
Jeffrey Jeanetta, a 66-year-old from North St. Paul, also died in the collapse, according to family.
