17-year-old dies in Brooklyn Park shooting

A 17-year-old boy died in the hospital after he was shot Tuesday afternoon in Brooklyn Park.

According to the Brooklyn Park Police Department, officers responded to a call of shots fired by Digir African Market near Brookdale Drive North and Yates Avenue North.

Officers found a 17-year-old in a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital, where he later died.

Police said it appears the suspect walked up to the parked car and shot the victim while he was sitting inside.

While the motive is unclear, police say they believe "several" suspects are involved in the shooting and ran away from the scene.

No arrests have been announced.
