1 injured in overnight Minneapolis house fire

Fire officials say one person is recovering from injuries after a fire in Minneapolis during the overnight hours Friday.

According to the Minneapolis Fire Department, crews were called to a home on the 5200 block of 47th Avenue S. at about 1:50 a.m. Friday.

When they arrived, they found flames showing in the back of a home, and then searched the residence.

The owner and the owner’s cat were reportedly still inside, and crews were eventually able to find the resident and provided aid until paramedics arrived.

The injured adult is in stable condition, and is being evaluated for possible smoke inhalation. No other details about the adult were immediately given.

No other injuries were reported, and fire officials did not immediately specify if the cat was found.

Firefighters dealt with clutter inside of the home, and overhauls was said to be extensive.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
