Woman dies in St. Paul stabbing, marks first homicide of the year
St. Paul police are investigating a fatal stabbing that happened Wednesday.
Officers responded to a home on the 400 block of Central Avenue West around 3:10 p.m. after a man called 911 and reported that someone had killed his wife.
At the scene, law enforcement found a man covered in blood and a woman suffering from a stab wound.
She was brought to Regions Hospital, where she later died. The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy to positively identify the victim.
The man was taken into custody and brought to police headquarters for questioning.
During a press conference, St. Paul police said they believe that the man and woman are married. They added that there was a baby and another adult in the house at the time of the incident.
This marks St. Paul’s first homicide of the year.
