Wild Mountain opens Tuesday, 2nd-earliest date ever
Minnesotans woke up to the season’s first snowfall just last week but one local ski area is already opening for business.
Wild Mountain in Taylors Falls is opening at noon Tuesday, saying it’s the first ski area to open for the season in all of North America.
Wild Mountain adds that Tuesday’s opening matches its second-earliest opening date on record, with the earliest coming on Oct. 7, 2012.
The ski area says its snowmaking team has worked hard the past two nights to make enough snow for the public to use.
Tuesday’s hours will be noon to 7 p.m., Wild Mountain says, but will be 1-7 p.m. going forward.
