White Bear Township man, woman killed by fallen tree
Authorities say two people are dead after a tree fell on them while they were camping in Price County, Wisconsin.
According to the Price County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to a campsite along the North Fork of the Flambeau River in the Township of Lake at about 5:45 p.m. Sunday.
The sheriff’s office says two people — identified as a 39-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman of White Bear Township — were sitting at a picnic table when they were hit by a tree that fell on them. Authorities identified the victims Thursday as Sandy Michael Langseth II and April Sheldahl.
Two others who were sitting at the table were uninjured.
Two anglers who were nearby helped the campers until emergency crews arrived and told first responders that the wind picked up for about 10 minutes before they heard a tree fall along the river bank.
