Victim of Friday morning Minneapolis shooting identified

The victim of a deadly shooting Friday morning in Minneapolis has been identified as 37-year-old Theodore Collins of Minneapolis, according to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner.

The press release says Collins died of a gunshot wound to the torso.

Police responded to a report of a shooting around 8:30 a.m. Friday near the 2400 block of Emerson Avenue North. Officers found a man with life-threatening gunshot wounds who was pronounced dead at the scene despite lifesaving efforts. Two suspects were arrested.

The deadly shooting was the second of three homicides within a 24-hour period in Minneapolis.
