Tractor driver dies after 2-vehicle crash in Faribault County
A man is dead after a crash with a crossover SUV Tuesday evening in Faribault County, according to a Minnesota State Patrol report.
The State Patrol says a John Deere 4020 tractor was in front of a Dodge Journey on Highway 22 when they collided just before 8 p.m. near 90th Street in Foster Township.
The tractor driver, 70-year-old Michael Phillip Wegner from Wells, died at the scene.
The three Dodge occupants, two teen boys and a 45-year-old woman from Sebastopol, California, were taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities say all three people inside the Dodge were wearing their seatbelts, but add the tractor didn’t have a seatbelt option, according to the report.
It is unknown what caused the collision, and road conditions were listed as being dry at the time.
No further information is expected to be released.
