Target, FAO Schwarz strike toy deal ahead of holiday shopping season

Target Corporation has made a multi-year agreement with toy brand FAO Schwarz ahead of the 2022 holiday shopping season, the retailer announced Monday.

The FAO Schwarz collection is expected to launch in mid-October, and for the brand’s 160th anniversary, “nostalgic” toys such as the Hot Wheels Collector Set and a 160th Anniversary Teddy Bear will be featured in a “capsule collection.”

“There truly is no better way to kick off our 160th anniversary than to announce this partnership,” said David Niggli, CMO of FAO Schwarz.

When the collection launches, people can check FAO Schwarz stores, Target stores and Target.com to browse over 120 items. Target says its stores will set up dedicated spaces for the collection.

Around the same time, consumers can find Bullseye’s Top Toys inside FAO Schwarz at Rockefeller Center in New York City.

Target reminds people they can set up free and contactless pick-up and drive-up services with no fee or membership requirement. Same-day delivery options are also expected to be available through Shipt.

Target says updates to holiday shopping information might be made, but might not be published. Check with local stores to see which toys are available near you.
