St. Paul police identify Dayton’s Bluff homicide victim

The man who died from a gunshot wound in St. Paul’s Dayton’s Bluff neighborhood early Tuesday morning has been identified.

As previously reported, officers were called to the 200 block of Bates Avenue shortly after 12 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a person lying in the street.

That’s where police say they found 33-year-old Michael Pleasants of St. Paul.

Pleasants was given aid at the scene, however, he died before he was taken to a hospital.

So far, police say no one is in custody for Pleasants’ death, which is being investigated as a homicide — the city’s 14th of the year.
