Dayton’s Bluff shooting leaves man dead, no one in custody

Police are investigating a homicide in St. Paul’s Dayton’s Bluff neighborhood after a man died from a gunshot wound early Tuesday.

According to St. Paul police, officers were called to the 200 block of Bates Avenue shortly after 12 a.m. Tuesday on a report of a person lying in the street.

When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. Although aid was given, the man died at the scene.

Police say the man is in his 30s, but gave no other details on the victim, adding this is the city’s 14th homicide of the year.

As of early Tuesday, no arrests have been made.
