Law enforcement was called to a home just before noon on April 19, 2021. According to a criminal complaint, Shelltrack-Miller told dispatchers that she’d stabbed Berge after he allegedly threw a can of pop at her and came toward her.

First responders found Berge making gasping sounds and started lifesaving measures until he was taken to a hospital. However, he was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Shelltrack-Miller later told authorities that Berge was kneeling over her and she tried to nick his chest with a knife to warn him but stabbed him, the complaint states. However, surveillance video showed the victim running away from Shelltrack-Miller beforehand. After she ended up on the ground, Berge appeared to be trying to gather items from the ground when Shelltrack-Miller maced him and then stabbed him.
