A wildfire and then extreme heat in South Dakota have left dozens of dogs in need of a new home. A Minnesota based rescue is helping out.
Ruff Start Rescue in Princeton took in 24 dogs from the Pine Ridge Reservation.
The dogs are now with foster families until they can get adopted.
“If people knew I think how big that of need there really is I think more people would foster and adopt,” Azure Davis, Founder of Ruff Start Rescue said. “It is hard for us we get those emails. We get those phone calls. The worst thing is when we have to say no. We can’t help. We can’t do anything. We see the emails and pictures it’s heart wrenching.”
