Roseville Area High School placed on partial lockdown after gun reported on campus
Authorities confiscated a gun from a student at Roseville Area High School on Tuesday, the third such incident at the school within the past month.
In a message sent to families, RAHS Principal Jen Wilson said the gun was reported to staff around 1 p.m. The school was placed on a partial lockdown a short time later; students and staff remained in classrooms and were kept from going in the hallways.
Roseville police say an officer recovered a loaded firearm before placing a student in custody.
“We are continuing to work with the police on the situation but we wanted to let families understand the reason for the hold,” Wilson wrote.
In late September, school staff caught two students with guns on the same day in unrelated incidents. Both students, ages 16 and 17, were charged as juveniles on suspicion of weapons-related offenses.
