The University of Minnesota men’s basketball team had a tough season last year in coach Ben Johnson’s first season leading the program. Still, he’s in line to get a contract extension.
The U of M Board of Regents is set to vote on a one-year extension for Johnson on Thursday. If approved, his contract would run through April 2027.
The extension also doesn’t provide any raise in salary, keeping him as the lowest-paid men’s basketball coach in the conference.
Minnesota went 13-17 last season, including 4-16 in conference play, and finished 13th in the conference standings.
