Purple Onion Cafe in Dinkytown closes permanently

The Purple Onion Cafe in Minneapolis announced it is permanently closing.

The popular cafe in Dinkytown near the University of Minnesota campus made the announcement via social media Monday.

"It is with great sadness that we announce our permanent closure," the post reads. "Thank you for giving us the opportunity to serve the U of M Campus for 30 amazing years. The memories made inside these walls will live on forever."
