Prior Lake police investigating recent burglaries, offer safety tips
Police in Prior Lake are investigating recent burglaries and are asking for residents’ help to prevent future incidents.
According to Prior Lake Police, the burglaries happened in two neighborhoods early Monday morning, specifically in the areas of Highway 13 and 150th Street as well as County Road 42 and Crest Avenue.
Authorities say suspects got into the homes between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m. by entering through garages while residents were sleeping.
Police say the suspects stole vehicles — one of which has since been recovered.
While the burglaries remain under investigation, police are asking residents to take a few steps to help prevent similar incidents:
Close and lock garage doors every night.
Don’t leave keys or key fobs inside vehicles.
Use outdoor and indoor lights to make it look like someone is home.
If you have a security system, put signage in clearly visible places.
