One person dead after striking trees in Maple Grove crash

One person is dead after a single-vehicle crash at the intersection of Nottingham Parkway and Bass Lake Road Wednesday night, according to the Maple Grove Police Department.

The 50-year old driver was the only occupant of the vehicle and was declared dead after lifesaving efforts were unsuccessful.

MPPD said the State Patrol is assisting with the investigation, and the cause of the crash is still unknown.

Investigators believe the vehicle was southbound on Nottingham Parkway before it left the roadway and struck several trees.

The victim’s identity and cause of death will be released by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Maple Grove Fire and North ambulance also responded to the crash.
