Oakdale residents asked to run water following water system surge

Oakdale residents who live north of Highway 36 are being asked by the city to run their indoor and outdoor water faucets and spigots until they run clear.

City officials said that there is stirred-up rust in the water system after a contractor working to extend the water main system Monday night caused damage.

That damaged included a water surge leading to the rust being stirred up, plus cloudy water.

The city is asking for patience as they work to fix the issue.
