The National Lao-Hmong Memorial Foundation is honoring Hmong soldiers who lost their lives supporting U.S. troops in Vietnam.
Saturday, a restored T-28 fighter bomber similar to the aircraft flown during the U.S. “secret war” in Laos will do a flight demo at Fleming Field in South Saint Paul.
They will also unveil the national Lao-Hmong memorial.
“It just brings a lot of emotion back,” said retired Air National Guard Pilot Colonel Jay Gates. “Sometimes they even tear up because they knew how valuable this airplane was to defend their country.”
The open house will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Everyone is invited to attend.
