Multiple departments battle fire at motel in Taylors Falls; no injuries reported

Multiple fire departments worked to put out a Friday morning fire at a motel in Chisago County that left no one injured.

The Chisago County Sheriff’s Office said that officials received calls of a fire at the Springs Inn Motel in Taylors Falls around 7:15 a.m.

Fire crews found smoke and flames coming from the second floor of the three-story building and the flames were extending up through the third floor. All occupants of the building were accounted for and no injuries were reported.

Authorities say that the building is not habitable at this time and the people displaced have been connected with the American Red Cross.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by officials; however, occupants of the building reported a suspected electrical issue near where the fire started.
