MPD arrests murder suspect Monday afternoon
A Minneapolis Police Department spokesperson says that police arrested a murder suspect in the area of 33rd Ave. North and Dupont Ave. North Monday afternoon.
The press release says that the suspect tried to run from officers after they did a traffic stop for the vehicle he was in, and officers heard a gunshot while chasing him.
Police say that a taser was used by an officer during the arrest. A gun was also recovered.
No additional injuries happened during the encounter.
The suspect was booked into the Hennepin County Jail on a probable murder charge.

The suspect was wanted in connection to an Oct. 28 deadly shooting.
MPD Chief Brian O’Hara said in a statement, “I am thankful for the heroic work of our officers today who safely took a murder suspect into custody. This is yet another example of the incredible bravery and restraint displayed by our police officers as they put their lives on the line to keep our residents safe.”
