Minneapolis ice rinks to close by March 1
All Minneapolis ice rinks will close by the end of the month, the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board announced Thursday.
MPRB said the Lake of the Isles ice rink closed Thursday due to unsafe conditions after a rise in temperatures recently.
The warmer weather is creating unsafe conditions and MPRB will stop maintaining all rinks at the end of the month. Staff will then start dismantling rinks in preparation for spring.
Residents can check the ice rink status map for conditions before March 1.
