Minneapolis apartment fire leaves several displaced, one hospitalized
Sunday afternoon around 4 p.m. the Minneapolis Fire Department responded to reports of an apartment fire in the area of 19th Avenue and NE Central Avenue.
Deputy Chief Kathleen Mullen says that 911 callers reported smoke and flames coming from the roof and back window of the apartments.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze and complete a search of the building.
One resident of the apartments was taken to the hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.
Mullen also said that between eight and ten people have been displaced by the fire, which caused significant damage to one unit, and rendered two other units uninhabitable.
