Man killed in crash south of Mankato

A man died and four other people were injured after a crash Tuesday afternoon south of Mankato.

The Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office says the crash happened at the intersection of County Road 39 and 148th Street at around 4:15 p.m.

Authorities say a 2003 Pontiac Bonneville was eastbound on 148th Street when it collided with a 2013 Jeep Wrangler that was headed south on County Road 39.

The driver of the Pontiac, identified as 30-year-old Nathan Edward Williams, of Wells, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Jeep and the three girls inside suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
