Man found dead after fire at residence in Akeley
A man’s body was found inside a home that was engulfed in flames Wednesday night, according to a news release from the Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office.
The remains found were identified as Jason Brose, a 45-year-old man from Akeley, Minnesota. The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office determined that the cause of death was smoke inhalation.
The sheriff’s office says neighbors first reported an explosion heard inside the residence just before the fire started at about 7:51 p.m. Firefighters from the Akeley and Nevis departments were dispatched to the home near the intersection of Mill Street and Pleasant Avenue Northeast. The structure was engulfed in flames, and firefighters recovered the body at about 9:18 p.m., according to the news release.
The Akeley Police Department and Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office are both continuing to investigate the incident.
