Man dies from injuries days after Minneapolis shooting that left 4 others injured

After five people were shot in the 800 block of East Franklin Avenue in Minneapolis on Oct. 14., one man succumbed to his injuries three days later.

Gregory Octavis Elting, 39, suffered multiple gunshot wounds just before 10 p.m. last week and died at Hennepin County Medical Center on Oct. 17 at 6:20 p.m, according to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner.

His death was ruled a homicide.

At the scene last week, police initially found two victims with gunshot wounds; they were taken to Hennepin County Medical Center. The next day, Minneapolis police reported that five people had been shot and one was in "very critical" condition.

The Minneapolis Police Department is investigating. No arrests have been made at this time.
