Man dead after hit-and-run in Brooklyn Center

Police are investigating a hit-and-run that left one person dead Monday night in Brooklyn Center.

Brooklyn Center police say officers responded to a pedestrian crash report on the 6600 block of Dupont Avenue North just before 10 p.m.

There, officers found a man lying in the road, already dead. However, the driver of the vehicle that hit the victim had left the scene by the time police arrived.

Officers were later able to find the vehicle they believe hit the victim and impounded it.

The crash remains under investigation.

No arrests had been announced as of Tuesday morning.
