Man convicted in 2021 St. Paul Saloon drive-by shooting sentenced to life in prison

The man convicted of killing a 20-year-old and injuring another person at St. Paul Saloon will spend the rest of his life in prison.

Andrew Vernard Glover, 38, of Saint Paul, was sentenced Monday for the drive-by killing of Raymond Renteria Hobbs that occurred in February 2021.

Court documents say that the two men had several interactions at the St. Paul Saloon over the night of February 23 before Glover left the bar and returned with a gun.

When Hobbs approached Glover’s vehicle outside of the bar, Glover fired several shots, hitting and killing Hobbs.

Following Glover’s trial, jurors found him guilty of first-degree murder by drive-by shooting, second-degree murder, illegal gun possession and two counts of drive-by shooting.

Court records show Glover was also ordered to pay nearly $1,000 in restitution. Due to the life sentence for the murder charge, his prison sentences of four years for the drive-by shooting charge and five years for the firearm and ammunition possession charge are being served concurrently.
