Man charged with attempted murder in connection to shooting outside St. Paul bar

A 35-year-old man has been charged in connection to a shooting that occurred outside of a St. Paul bar, according to court records.
A criminal complaint states Taral Junior Holmes faces one count of second-degree attempted murder and two counts of being an ineligible person in possession of a firearm.
According to the criminal complaint, police were called the night of Jan. 14 on the report of a shooting at Born's Bar on the 900 block of Rice Street.
The complaint says surveillance video shows the suspected shooter enter the bar around 10 p.m. The suspect was then denied entry to the bar once the bouncer found he had a gun.
When the suspect was outside, he punched a man's head and neck area. The suspect then shot multiple rounds in the man's direction.
No one suffered gunshot wounds in connection to the incident.
According to the complaint, a member of the St. Paul Police Department's Gang Unit identified the shooter from still photos as Holmes.
Holmes was arrested Sunday in Burnsville. When officers arrested him, a 50 round capacity magazine was found inside of a backpack he was carrying. Officers also found a handgun in the console of the vehicle he was in, according to the complaint.
