There have been many images and videos shared around the world that shows destruction in Ukraine from Russian forces — but one video hit home for co-owner of Revel & Flourish Emmy Ross.
“I was scrolling Instagram and found a story, from the Florist Review, about this farm outside of Kyiv that got shelled and destroyed,” Ross said. “We’re in the floral community and we wanted to support this local grower,” she added.
In an Instagram post from Villa Verde Farm, a barn can be seen in flames. Ross said she’s been able to message the farm’s owner — learning no one was hurt and that support is coming in from around the world.
“It’s a family farm, the owner runs it with her parents, and her story hit us so hard that we just wanted to do something,” Ross added.
Partnering with Len Busch Roses, in Plymouth, Ross and her team will be creating and selling the handheld bouquets for $35 – all proceeds will benefit Villa Verda Farm.
“The sunflower is the national flower of Ukraine, so we really wanted to incorporate sunflowers,” Ross said about the arraignment that also includes blue delphiniums.
Orders can be made now through Saturday and can either be picked up or delivered for an additional charge.
“The whole reason we got into the flower industry was to create beautiful things and make people happy,” Ross said. “This was something that we could not only [have a] monetary benefit to this flower farmer, but also spread joy here at home.”
