June 2020 named Pride Month by Ramsey County Board of Commissioners
The Ramsey County Board of Commissioners has declared the month of June this year as Pride Month.
The board approved the decision during Tuesday's meeting, stating it had "renewed its commitment to protecting and strengthening the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people in our communities."
Last week, Twin Cities Pride announced it is postponing the 2020 virtual edition of the LGBTQ+ Pride Parade, citing the death of George Floyd and the unrest that followed.
"We do not feel a celebratory Pride Parade is appropriate at this time," organizers stated.
