Icy conditions back up I-94 overnight

Traffic was at a standstill at the Minnesota-Wisconsin border Thursday night and early Friday morning as ice, snow and winds of up to 50 mph backed up Interstate 94.

Some semis were still on the side of the road early Friday, but East Metro conditions had improved throughout the morning.

Commuters should allow for a few extra minutes to accommodate slick spots.
