Ghana’s Ambassador to the United States made a special appearance in St. Paul this week.
Hajia Alima Mahama gave the keynote speech at a “Books for Africa” event Wednesday afternoon.
Since 1988, the nonprofit “Books for Africa” has shipped more than 54 million books to all 55 countries on the African continent.
“This is where books for Africa has picked up the mantel, to ensure that young adults are given a chance to experience the reading of books and indeed brighten their future,” said Mahama.
Mahama did comment she’s happy she visited Minnesota now and not during the winter so she could wear her traditional clothing.
