Edina police ask for info on attempted robbery near Southdale Center

Police in Edina are asking for information to help find the person involved in an assault and attempted robbery near Southdale Center.

Edina police say the incident happened at around 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 13. A woman was standing on the northwest corner of York Avenue South and West 69th Street when a dark-colored SUV with a loud muffler pulled up near her.

According to police, two young men then jumped out of the SUV and demanded the woman’s purse. When she didn’t cooperate, they assaulted her and fled.

Police say nothing was taken from the victim but she suffered injuries to her face and head.

Investigators haven’t been able to find any security footage of the incident and are now asking for anyone who saw the incident or anything suspicious at that time to call Detective Joel Moore at 952-826-0485 or email jmoore@EdinaMN.gov.
