Day 7: Minnesota State Fair attendance just over 88K
Continuing a lower attendance trend this year, the Minnesota State Fair had only 88,027 visitors on Wednesday. This is significantly down from 2019, when 142,211 people walked through the gates on the only Wednesday of the fair.
So far, no single day at the 2021 fair has equaled or exceeded the same day of fair attendance in 2019. The weather for day seven of the great Minnesota Get-Together boasted mostly sunny skies and comfortable temperatures and featured country superstar Tim McGraw for the grandstand concert.
The all-time attendance record for Wednesday of the fair was set in 2018 with 144,940 guests.
In 2021, the only days with attendance exceeding 100,000 people have been Saturday and Sunday compared to 2019, which only saw one day dip below 100,000 and 2018 with no days below that mark.
The fair has not implemented any mask or vaccine requirements for attendees this year. Inconsistent weather has also figured into the low attendance numbers this year.
