Day 11: State fair attendance Sunday about the same as Saturday; over 1.1M have attended in 2021
The Minnesota State Fair’s attendance on the second Sunday of the Great Minnesota Get-Together saw about the same amount of people walking through the gates as Saturday. According to the data, 153,422 people attended on Sunday, about 500 shy of the amount of fairgoers that attended Saturday.
However, Sunday’s attendance was down about 91,000 from 2019 when a record number of 245,243 people went to the fair.
So far, no single day of the 2021 fair has had equal or greater attendance than the same day in 2019. The ongoing pandemic and multiple days with wet weather are both presumed to have played a factor in the lower attendance numbers this year.
Through Day 11 of the fair, the total fair attendance sits at 1,178,006. In 2019 an all-time overall fair attendance was set with 2,126,551 people going over the course of 12 days. Labor Day Monday is the final day of the fair. The fair is open until 9 p.m.
